Star Wars is out

Everything the rig ships with. What you get on day one:

Eye target space switch

Lock the scanning eye onto a character or object, the fastest route to BD-1's curious head movements.

FK/IK blend on legs and neck

Switch and blend on both legs and the neck rather than committing to one mode for the shot.

Maya to engine

An in-game-ready FBX and 2K PBR textures ship with the rig.

Model by Malik Fernandez

Senior Environment Artist at Studio Gobo and Dekogon, down to the head-tilt mechanism and the insect-like legs.

The story behind BD-1

Everyone's favourite Jedi droid, wired up for Maya

Emilio Serrano has rigged BD-1, Cal Kestis' devoted companion from Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Small robots steal every scene they are in: curious, loyal and packed with personality in a compact mechanical frame.

Malik Fernandez, Senior Environment Artist at Studio Gobo and Dekogon, built the model with production precision. The head-tilt mechanism, the insect-like leg configuration and the scanning eye that reads like an entire face are all there.

The eye target space switch is the control that sells him. Pin the eye to a character or object and the reactive, curious head moves follow, which is where so much of the droid's personality lives. BD-1 pairs naturally with the Mandalorian and Grogu rigs if you want to put him in a scene.
