Scorpion Rig for Maya is out

Everything the rig ships with. What you get on day one:

IK/FK on front and hind legs

Switch each leg set between IK and FK, with toe and ball pivot settings for ground contact.

Ribbon spine and neck

Ribbon systems articulate the body and give the head and stinger natural movement.

Three looks, one rig

White, Orange and Black variants use the same rig and controls, so you swap the look per shot.

Face and eyes

A facial rig for expression work, plus an eye look-at system.

The story behind the Scorpion rig

A Maya creature rig built for multi-leg coordination

Scorpions move like nothing you would animate on a biped or even a quadruped, and that is what makes them so good for reel work and creature practice. A strong silhouette, expressive claws and that stinger pose read from any angle.

Rigging a multi-legged creature properly is a serious task. You need clean controls across several leg pairs, a tail that can curl and strike with proper articulation, claws that snap into pose, and a face that supports expression. This scorpion rig covers all of it with a control set built for animators, not riggers.
