Akira Bike is a free Maya rig of Kaneda's motorcycle from Katsuhiro Otomo's Akira, modelled by Mike BlueG and rigged on mGear by Emilio Serrano. The vehicle controls cover suspension, wheel rotation and physics-driven secondary motion, with a full AnimPicker and Python and MEL post-scripts. Pair it with the Kaneda rig for Neo-Tokyo chase shots, or use it on its own to practise vehicle weight and momentum.

Everything the rig ships with. What you get on day one:
The low-slung red motorcycle from Akira, with its streamlined body and bold curves, modelled and textured by Mike BlueG.
Suspension, wheel rotation and physics-driven secondary motion, so the bike carries weight on the road.
A full AnimPicker on a custom background image, plus the mGear guide and Python and MEL post-scripts.
Stage it with the Kaneda character rig for highway sequences, hero shots and confrontations.
Kaneda's motorcycle is a design icon: low-slung, crimson red, built for speed and attitude in equal measure. It defines the character as much as the jacket does, so Emilio Serrano rigged it as a companion to his Kaneda rig.
Mike BlueG's model brings every detail of the machine into Maya, from the streamlined body to the bold curves. Emilio's rig gives it suspension, wheel rotation and physics-driven secondary motion, which is what makes vehicle animation feel grounded.
With Kaneda in the saddle you can stage Neo-Tokyo highway sequences, hero shots or standoffs. On its own it is a vehicle animation exercise that tests your understanding of physics, weight and momentum in a design with drama built in.
Rigged by Emilio Serrano.
Suspension, wheel rotation and physics-driven secondary motion.
With a custom background image.
