The story behind the Ghost Biker
What would Ghost Rider look like as a teenager?
Emilio Serrano has brought hellfire into Maya, on a BMX. The Ghost Biker is his tongue-in-cheek answer to the Ghost Rider comics: all attitude and fury, powered by pedals.
Javier González Barreiro's model plays the joke straight, with the flaming skull, the punk jacket and hair, and a lanky silhouette about as far from the original character as it gets. Those long limbs are what make his action poses read so strongly.
The bike and rider are built to work together, so mounted and dismounted sequences come naturally, and the BMX itself can carry part of the story. Comedy from the teenage twist, stunt sequences, or a paper round that has never looked this dangerous.
