Silky the Jumping Spider by Flavie Delavaux (Flavie DV) is one of the most well-built creature rigs I’ve seen come through the marketplace. It’s stylised, it’s playful, and it handles all the complexity that comes with rigging a jumping spider in a way that just gets out of your way once you sit down to animate.

One of the questions I get the most from animators is “where can I find a creature rig that’s actually fun to use?” That’s a fair question, because so many creature rigs are either over-engineered, locked behind production studios, or feel stiff the moment you start posing them. The controls are intuitive, the personality is already there in the design, and you can push the performance from cute and curious to fast and twitchy in the same shot without fighting the rig.
