Animation jobs are scattered everywhere. So we built StudioWatch

In the current state of the industry, more and more artists are looking for jobs… BUT at the same time, it’s difficult even to find the right places where those jobs are.
Boards are scattered across the internet… most of them aren’t even updated…
And job recommendations on LinkedIn, let’s be real… they’re a mess.
So to help our fellow animators find and keep track of all the available roles in the animation industry, we created StudioWatch!

Right after the first week of launch we had an incredible response, so THANK YOU to everyone that tried StudioWatch!
We got a lot of feedback on things to add for making job search easier (which is especially needed nowadays…).
New feature will be added every single week, and you can keep track of them on this blog post OR with our newsletter.

So without further ado, let’s see how it can help you find your next (or first) job in the industry! ↓

Easy Access.

You just need to have an Animworks account (which is now even easier to create with Google, GitHub, or Discord).
Once you are logged in, you can easily access it by clicking the “StudioWatch” button at the top!

Studio Pages

You can find the review box on our updated studio page.
The first thing you see now is a summary of the job post, right at the top.
All the key information for the role will be visible at a glance, such as:

  • Date posted
  • Level and experience required
  • Location (with a cool new interactive globe)
  • Type of contract

Know how much you can expect (or ask)

From now on it will not be a mystery anymore how much you should be earning for your skills.
Because if you scroll down on the studio page, you can now see how much your role pays based on location and experience.
Just to give you an idea before the application or the interview.
Keep in mind this is just a guide based on the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, May 2025 OEWS survey, then adjusted for the cost of living of each country.

Studio Reviews

This is hard to find anywhere else. To know how other artists found working at a specific studio in the past, you have to go through posts and comments on obscure subreddits, or pay a lot of money upfront just to read a single review (we are looking at you, Glassdoor).

No worries! StudioWatch is here for you!
If you scroll at the bottom of the Studio Page, you can leave a quick review of any studio to let everyone know how your experience was there.
And of course, you can also read what other artists have to say about any studio you are interested in as well.

Opportunities will come to you, not the other way around

You don’t have to get exhausted doing hours and hours of research. You set up your profile, tell us what you want, and receive updates on the matching roles on StudioWatch or directly in your inbox!
We will be doing the heavy work for you.

Keep track of all your applications

We know that you have multiple applications open at any given time, and it’s difficult to keep track of all of them.
With our dedicated Studio Tracker, you can easily select the positions you are interested in and keep an eye on what stage you are in the hiring process.
