About the Author

Harvey's Career

Harvey Newman shipped his first game in 2003 and has worked in games every year since. He cut his teeth animating Bond, Ice Age, and Dead Space, then held senior and lead animation positions at Crytek, Lionhead, Axis Animation, Creative Assembly, and EA DICE through some of the most turbulent and transformative years the games industry has lived through. His credits include Crysis 3, Fable Legends, Horizon Zero Dawn, Total War: Warhammer, Star Wars Battlefront II, and Battlefield V. He has judged the BAFTA Games Awards and now serves as Strategic and Animation Director at Rekindled Studios, and as Founder and Game Director at Proxima Studio, where he is leading development on Warship Jolly Roger, a single player space opera based on the acclaimed series by Miki Montllo and Sylvain Runberg. Alongside the studio work, he runs the Animworks marketplace at anim.works and shares twenty years of lessons on his YouTube channel.
